Birla tyres, which was established in the year 1991, is a part of Kesoram Industries Limited. This has its headquarters located in Kolkata, India. The same year, it collaborated with the renowned tyre maker, Pirelli, for the manufacture and development of tyres. Its first production house was set up in Balasore, Orissa followed by state-of-the-art Laksar-Haridwar plant in Uttaranchal. This unit presently produces more than 44 lakh truck tyres annually, whereas the company has a combined production capacity of 2,98,660 metric tonnes. Currently, it’s products are exported to over 50 countries across the world.

Certificate for the Balasore Tyre plant for complying with the standards of occupational health and safety management system standards 18001 : 2007 for manufacture of automobile tyres and tubes.
Certificate for meeting the standards of environmental management system standard ISO 14001 : 2004 certificate in 2016.
Haridwar- Laksar tyre plant awarded with Certificate of Environmental management system ISO 14001: 2004 for the design and manufacture of tyres and tubes.
ISO 9001:2008 Certificate of quality management system for the Balasore tyre plant with respect to the design and production of tyres and tubes for automobiles.
Special Export Award for the year 2012 – 2013 in recognition of their export achievement for automobile tyres, tubes and flaps.
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) award in 2000 for outstanding achievement in the modernization of techniques and approaches of plant maintenance.
