The Autocar Performance Show to feature top cars and bikes

It showcased some of the top supercars and superbikes from all over the world. It started from December 13th and will end on December 16th.


The four-day automobile extravaganza, the 13th edition Autocar Performance Show was initiated in Mumbai on Thursday. It showcased some of the top supercars and superbikes from all over the world. It started from December 13th and will end on December 16th.

Narain Karthikeyan, the first Indian to race the Formula 1, inaugurated the expo at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra Kurla complex in between the full crowd of thrilled and delighted auto enthusiasts present at the venue.

All the globally renowned auto brands Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Motors, Lamborghini, Audi, BMC, Lexus, BMW Motorrad, Porsche, Maserati, Volvo, Jeep, Skoda, Hyundai, Mini, Nissan, Renault, Toyota, Ford are amongst the record number of brands featured in this event.

Amongst the top Motorbikes, the brands that were showcased are BMW Motorrad, Harley Davidson, Kawasaki, Ducati, Triumph Motorcycles, TVS, Motoroyale Kinetic and Suzuki Motorcycle India.

There was also a Mumbai debut of the two globally renowned brands- Kia Motors and MG Motors. Kia Motors made debut with its hot Stinger four-door and Sportage SUV, while MG Motor provided a look of its model lineup at the show. Both these companies will soon launch their models in the country, for which they showcased their models.

There was also an extraordinary display of new sports utility vehicles including the powerful pair of Mercedes AMG G63 and Lamborghini Urus. Other sports utility vehicles included popular models like Lexus NX 400h, Nissan Kicks, Maserati Levante, Porsche Cayenne, Volvo XC40 and Volvo XC90.

The display of supercars in the expo was powered by Mumbai’s largest supercar group Throttle 97. These cars included the new BMW M2 Competition, Audi A5 and RS5, Mercedes AMG E63S Maserati GranTurismo S and Ghibli, Volvo S90 and Lexus ES 300h. The showstoppers of the gallery were cars like Ferrari 488, Audi R8 V10 and the Formula E season 5 race car.

The event also showcased a multi-brand range for the two-wheeler lovers as a treat. These included some of the top brand motorcycles like the Motorcycle, Triumph's Stree Triple RS, Tiger 800 XRx, Bonneville Bobber to Kawasaki's entire Ninja and Versys range, Ducati's Panigale V4 and Monster 795 superbikes. At the venue of the superbike gallery, there is a display of Honda CBR1000RR and Kawasaki Ninja H2.

The Autocar India Magazine editor Hormazd Sorajbee claimed that the number of cars and bikes that are being featured in the Autocar Performance Show this year are the largest number of cars and bikes till date in the APS. Over 1,00,000 cars and bike enthusiasts are expected to visit the four-day show along with other amazing events up in the calendar.

This is the 13th edition of the Autocar Performance Show and it has fulfilled its promise to be grander, better and a bigger show than the previous editions. The concept of the show is to focus more on ‘performance over practicality’, ‘fun over functional’ and ‘speed over sensible’.
