Toyota Glanza is all set to launch in India. It is the first offering to come in the market from the partnership of Toyota-Suzuki. Toyota Glanza is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno with a few changes in the design and features. With no design changes as such, the hatchback bares the revised grille.
The Toyota Glanza will be available to the customers in two variants - G and V. With the launch of Glanza, Toyota is entering a new segment. Pre-bookings of the car have already started across the automaker's 359 dealerships.
Offered with only a petrol engine, for now, Toyota Glanza comes with the G trim getting the 1.2-litre K12N engine along with a mild-hybrid motor. The unit is tuned to produce a maximum output of 89 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque, while the Glanza V trim will use the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine along with the mild-hybrid system. The regular motor gives out 82 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual along with a 7-step CVT. Toyota Glanza has a fuel efficiency that stands at 21.01 kmpl for the V MT trim, and 23.87 kmpl for the G MT trim. The CVT version, on the other hand, will return 19.56 kmpl.
Talking about the feature front, Toyota Glanza will come with the Toyota Smart Playcast 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which will be seen for the first time in any Toyota model in India. The car is equipped with a multi-information display, keyless entry and LED projector headlamps.
Safety features of the car include ABS, EBD and dual airbags as standard, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. The top trim also gets a reverse camera and follow me home headlamps.
