Tubeless Tyres for Royal Enfield Bikes Will Now be Available

by Editor News

Introducing Tubeless Tyres for Royal Enfield bikes will prove to be beneficial as the puncture resistance of these tyres is far better than tube tyres.

Royal Enfield is all set to introduce alloy wheels as an option for their two latest bike models - Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Till now the company was offering only tube tyres with spoked wheels for these bikes. Now the buyers will have an option to run them on tubeless tyres as well. The only Royal Enfield motorcycles that offer tubeless tyres currently are the Thunderbird 350X and 500X.

Introducing tubeless tyres for these bikes will prove to be beneficial as the puncture resistance of these tyres is far better than tube tyres. Tube tyres are also prone to blowouts on high speed. Tubeless tyres, on the other hand, lose air more gradually, which allows them to maintain control on the road. Talking about punctures, repairing a puncture is much easier on a tubeless tyre than on a tubed tyre, which is a convenient option for touring, especially for riders who repair the puncture on their own.

Introducing alloy wheels is beneficial as they are stronger wheels that can really withstand the challenges that Indian streets toss at it. An alloy wheel that is not factory approved can be of a low quality that might crack and lead to accidents. A factory affirmed alloy wheel, on the other hand, goes through various tests and thus is more reliable. Also, factory attested wheels come with a warranty.

Both Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 comes with a lot of additional accessories with them.  These accessories include free flow exhausts, crash guards, pannier mounts and so on. The brand aims to tag these motorcycles as highly customizable motorbikes.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have gained popularity as one of the most affordable bikes in the twin cylinder engine section. Here are some of the listed features of both aspirants:

  • Both the bike models come with air-cooled, SOHC, parallel twin engines of 648 cc.

  • The motor produces an output of 78hp at 7250rpm and 52Nm and torque at 5250rpm combined with a 6-speed gearbox.

  • The clutch, which is a slip assistant clutch, is one of the most striking and commendable features reducing negative engine torque.

  • Both bikes are also equipped with gas charged twin shock absorbers and a traditional or same telescopic fork.

The bike is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch as a standard feature. The price of the Interceptor begins from Rs. 2.37 lakhs while that of the Continental GT begins from Rs. 2.49 lakhs.
